Everywhere on the Internet you can find tutorials given by experienced and less experienced Ableton Live users. That’s great. It can save you a lot of time exploring it all yourself. Does this make an Ableton Live course expendable? I don’t think so. Don’t get me wrong: many of these videos are a great help. But you are able to get more out off yourself by using the program in your own way. Only informing yourself on the Internet will give you just the solutions for the problems you found. You’ll never see the possibilities you didn’t think of yourself. Second your creativity will nearly be stimulated.

In my workshops I highlight that important thing that makes Ableton Live different from other DAW’s: the musical usage at live performances.

You can make a musical instrument out of everything. We’ll proof that in this section. Samples of any sound will be revised and are the foundation for the loops we’ll be working with.

To let drums live you not only must know how to humanize the drum grooves, but it’s important too to predict how your audience will react on certain sounds. After this section you are no longer depending on the work of someone else. You will make your own beats.

If you want to expose all your musical ideas at once, you’ll be short of hands. Fortunately technology can help you. In this section you’ll learn how to “tell” your computer what it has to do for you.

Turn your self recorded samples in brand new sound. You’ll mix them up with synthesizers and build multiple layers. Till you finally find the sound that’s even better than you hoped for.

How to build a song? When do you get to the hook? Do you have to add or must there something be deleted? You will switch between session mode and arrange mode in Ableton and find out that the software will help you to stay in focus of your goals.
